Natural gas is still a fossil fuel. While it may be seen as a cleaner alternative to coal or oil, it still contributes to greenhouse gas emissions. But realistically we need reliable energy. Nuclear, hydro, wind and solar are great electric base load providers. Read more

We must decarbonize and move away from natural gas as quickly as possible. I do not support expanding gas infrastructure, building more gas plants or new gas hookups in new buildings. I spend a lot of time in BC with family where new builds have heat pumps and solar on the roof. Read more

This is fundamentally flawed. Without exaggeration it appears to have been written by the corporation that has a monopoly on gas distribution in Ontario. Consequently it is grossly unfair and offers NO opportunity to minimize the control of this monopoly. Read more

I am shocked when I read that natural gas usage at 40 % is still double that of electricity (20%). Ontario is able to produce its own electricity, and has squandered opportunities to ramp up the use of solar, wind and geothermal sources which continuously decrease in cost. Read more
