I am shocked when I read that natural gas usage at 40 % is still double that of electricity (20%). Ontario is able to produce its own electricity, and has squandered opportunities to ramp up the use of solar, wind and geothermal sources which continuously decrease in cost. Natural gas is primarily sourced from outside the province and therefore is not part of a sustainable local source of energy. If anything, our reliance on natural gas (a greenhouse gas) should be reduced and zero-emission sources of electricity should be increased. This only makes common sense!
