I am disappointed... no. Heartbroken to hear the Province of Ontario is planning to dump sewage into Ontario Place West Island where swimmers, rowers, paddlers and wildlife use this as an outlet in our urban setting. There is not much that is free these days, and even less access to opportunities for nature that are free. In addition, no one can speak for the animals.
The Ontario government has already destroyed. 850 trees, displacing wildlife, and bulldozing a beloved public area, all in the name of supporting a private foreign entity. Now you want to put public health at risk by putting untreated sewage through a public use area.
Not that I want this waste of taxpayer money, but if it has to happen, the City of Toronto already has a plan in place to deal with this issue properly. LET THE CITY GOVERN ITSELF.
Tens of millions of taxpayer dollars are once again being wasted to prioritize a private company over the wellbeing of the public and the environment.
As a liberty village resident in particular I rely on the outlet available along the waterfront and even more of it is being taken away.
