Let’s call this bill what it is: it’s another attempt by the conservative government to weaken regulations that get in the way of their rich friends making a buck, and in doing so, they will mortgage our future.
There are many other ways to increase housing that don’t compromise biodiversity, and don’t decimate habitats and watersheds that Ontario desperately needs, more than another subdivision in the middle of nowhere.
I view this bill as a corrupt act. It’s dangerous and will allow the Province to make changes to protected species lists with ease. its damage will irreversible.
I strongly urge the government to keep the current regulations and tighten up loopholes that have also lead to environmental disasters.
