Leave our environmental laws and endangered species protections in place. Only qualified scientific experts should even be allowed to comment on modifying them, not autocratic, reckless politicians. Yes, they take a while to follow, but that's perfectly reasonable - we need to take care to understand the impact we're having on the environment. Harming endangered species can cause irreparable damage to ecosystems, with knock-on effects that are guaranteed to come back to us and cause problems for Ontario citizens. Eg., Eliminate the only predator for a type of insect and now that insect grows unchecked, eventually destroying crops or otherwise disrupting human activity. We need laws to consider these effects so we don't stupidly damage our environment, destroying what most Ontarians value most about living here.
