This is a disgusting overreach by the Ontario government. The updated proposal will undoubtedly harm many native endangered species with little recourse. Part of what makes our province so unique is our nature and wildlife, and I do not think that “sustainable” economic growth should outweigh that. The newly proposed definition of what a habitat is is laughable. It is unquestionably dangerous to allow the government discretion to remove species from the endangered species list - I do not think for second that this will not be abused at the first instant for financial gain. Please do not repeal the existing infrastructure in favour of a shoddily-crafted plan which will do far more to help developers than any of our precious wildlife.
