This proposal doesn’t really help protect Ontario’s wildlife and feels more like it’s helping big developers cut corners. By letting people start potentially harmful activities just by registering online, there’s way less oversight to make sure they’re doing the right thing. It also gives the government the power to decide which species get protected, even if scientists say they’re at risk — which feels kind of shady. Plus, getting rid of recovery plans and shrinking the definition of “habitat” makes it even harder to actually protect animals and their homes. Overall, it feels more like a step backwards than real conservation.
As an Ontario resident I am against this proposal
