By allowing developers to proceed without process you cannot make informed decisions. This is especially pertinent in areas like the GTA where there is already so little habitat left. These areas are also prime stop over points for migratory birds and will only accelerate the decline of these vulnerable populations.
The point of government is not to allow free reign to those who contribute to your political campaigns and your relatives stag and doe's. The point of government is to govern in the best interest of ALL of it's citizens and to curb those instincts which would be detrimental. This change in legislation will cause a ripple effect whose consequences will haunt your children and their children after them.
Redundancy in a system is a good thing because it safeguards us against these impulses that cause short term gain but limit our future. The endangered species act is one such safeguard. You are removing the guard rails when we are already approaching a cliff. Your actions will have consequences. I hope you are ready for what is to come.
