It’s incredibly problematic to have “register-first, ask-questions-later” model for species-at-risk permits, allowing developers to proceed before environmental implications are fully known. What is the point of the policy if damage is already done?
Cabinet exempting a “special economic zones” raises serious concerns around transparency, accountability, and environmental stewardship.
As a millennial who has been suffering with the downturn of an economy and affordability crisis, I completely understand the need to move fast — but move smart. This policy as is today is not accomplishing what it needs to do: protect our environment and species at risk.
Please do better. For our collective future.
