I vehemently oppose this proposal. Protections for these species are in place for a reason, and we need more of them--not fewer. You can't reduce safe habitat areas to the bare minimum and expect species not to be negatively effected. Life before capital. You people will see this beautiful country become a sliced up, ugly wasteland before you'd give up the possibility of another dollar. Shame on you.
It's a slap in the face to our indigenous communities and an irresponsible, careless, foolish endeavour that puts businesses and a poorly thought out highway project over the damn earth that sustains us. You cannot expect these companies to act with any integrity with these matters and here you are, wanting to give them another inch they can run a mile with.
To say this is bitterly disappointing is an understatement.
