It seems like this provincial government is set on ridding the province of all environmental regulations and protections for the sake of developers. As we have seen with the greenbelt, and the conservation authorities act changes, this government does not care about protecting the provinces environments, wildlife habitats, natural heritage features, watersheds, nor its denizens.
This to me, is evidence of more developers being in the pockets of our politicians.
If the province really wanted to improve development timelines they would not be worrying about the Endangered Species Act but instead making the ministries have service standards for review timelines.
For example, the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism does not have a service standard timeline for their report reviews, it is things like this that slow development.
We SHOULD NOT be developing in species-at-risk habitat.
I am against this bill and its proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act.
