The continued destruction of habitat for wildlife is one thing, but to target the critical habitat of endangered species? That’s a new low. I fail to understand how such a short-sighted attempt to temporarily reduce red tape for businesses built on exploiting our natural resources is of benefit to the people of Ontario as a whole. We have lost so many wild spaces to development, and those do. Not. Come. Back. Don’t add to the list of beautiful natural areas that enhance all of our lives (yes, even economically if you can believe it), nor add pressure to the mounting list of species that are at risk of extinction in the province for the sake of a few businesses largely headed by the 1%. The wildlife of Ontario and the people of Ontario deserve better now, and in the future.
