Hello, I'm a citizen of the GTA, I was born in Ontario and have happily lived here my entire life.

The argument that the endangered species act causes "unnecessary" delays, is foolish.
This is a bad idea, and will only hurt our already struggling environment.
The creeks and fields are littered with pieces of plastic, junk and garbage.
The majority of our untouched nature areas, and old-growth forests, have already been destroyed, logged, or paved over.
We should be doing everything in our power as a province to protect the miracle of nature that we still have, not peeling back protections that are already in place.
Endangered species deserve to be cared for. The threat of extinction and habitat collapse is a serious one.
Unfortunately, this means that yes, there may be some delays and roadblocks when it comes to building. But I think we need to pay attention to the bigger picture.

Will future generations thank us more for fast, sprawling developments that will inevitably grow outdated in the next 50-60 years? Or will they thank us for protecting our last remaining old-growth forests and open fields, the animals & trees that make Canada what it is. Our plants and animals make me proud to be Canadian, and we should be proud of them in return.
Without our nature, we lose so much of our identity.
