I don't believe that the new/proposed definition of "habitat" is sufficient - this new definition (“a dwelling place or the area immediately around it, such as a den, nest or other similar place, that is occupied or habitually occupied by one or more members of a species for the purposes of breeding, rearing, staging, wintering or hibernating.”) feels too small, narrow, or insufficient. Imagine if your "habitat" was just "your house and the area immediately around it"? The habitat required to sustain a mountain lion or a bear is obvious much larger than its immediate den or nest. Ontario is BIG and there is no need to encroach on the habitats of endangered species. I don't support this legislation as currently written.
