Bill 5 is extremely irresponsible and unnecessary in Ontario. We have environmental protections to protect our natural environment that provides habitat for a variety of wildlife. Our environment is not something to bulldoze over. Everything has a purpose and we need to protect our natural environment not only for the millions of species that rely on it, but for our own future generations. We do not need to cut environmental protections to speed up development, the problem lies with the lack of staffing in our government sector. Provide proper funding for the natural environment and permits would not take so long. This is unacceptable and continues to show that Ontario does not believe in science based facts. We as humans need our natural environment including all the species that inhabit it. To remove all protections to speed up development is atrocious. We can very easily balance environmental protections and development and yet the Ontario Government continues to take the easy way out because they continue to show that they do not respect science or nature. We need our natural environment for clean water, clean air and to help fight climate change (something humans are the leading contributor for), why does our government continue to ignore the clear facts in front of them to build faster. There will be no money or development if we have no people because we do not have a safe planet to live on. Do better.
