Overall I can see some improvements to this change but have serious issues with the redefining of “habitats”
A dwelling, or nest is not a habitat. The areas surrounding an animal dwelling and migratory pathways, feeding/hunting grounds are critical for survival. Developments that clear cut forests cause destruction of fragile ecosystems that not only displace animal species, plant and rootstock, but create environmental degradation overall. Proper water drainage is also affected. It’s time that we humans make “environment” a priority! It’s our only home.
In my local area, a huge forest area was annihilated to create a housing development. The day it was destroyed, i broke down and cried. I saw a family of six deer standing in the middle of the road looking so confused, not knowing where to go. I’ll leave you with that image.
