The following statement in the proposal “ species protection and conservation while taking into account social and economic considerations, including the need for sustainable economic growth in Ontario” is not an acceptable tradeoff in that the social and economic considerations are not defined and therefore open to government interpretation on the side of developers.
These changes in general have not been clearly communicated to the public. Animals for which we are stewards are relying on human governance that is sympathetic to their inability to adapt to sudden changes in environment. In particular nesting or home areas appear to be limited to very immediate areas near the ‘economic benificial’ development.
