Repealing of the Endangered Species Act is one of the most offensive things that the Ford government has ever attempted. This new law will give developers a free pass to destroy crucial habitat for the most vulnerable plants and animals in the province. Ontario's species at risk deserve protection. This is particularly important as we start to see more and more impacts of climate change provincially, nationally, and across North America. It's extremely depressing to see more critical environmental legislation dismantled by this government. We need to strengthen protections for species at risk, not weaken them. The Ford government only cares about the interests of a handful of wealthy developers. Time and time again it's gone ahead with massively unpopular attacks on the ecological integrity of the province. Enough is enough.
