This proposed policy is a reckless and harmful attack on Ontario’s fragile ecosystems for the sake of corporate greed. The gutting of the Endangered Species Act for the sake of “economic growth” will only harm Ontarians in the future by destroying the valuable ecosystems that keep our land and water healthy. The short term economic gains will be significantly outweighed by the devastating impacts of habitat loss and degradation, such as the extinction or disappearance of many species of insects which act as key pollinators for Ontario’s food and agriculture industry.
