When looking at what slows down development, the blame should not be put on the endangered species act. This act ensures that critical habitat is not disrupted in unnecessary ways for species across Ontario. If you want to speed up development look at the cities approving permits and the outrageous development fees that are required to be paid. By gutting the endangered Species Act we are literally paving the way for habitat and species to be lost forever. Ecosystems survive in a delicate balance and by eliminating the protections of species we are eliminating the protection of vulnerable ecosystems.
