I am opposed to Schedule 8 of the Protect Ontario By Unleashing Our Economy Act (2025) which would exempt every Ontario Place redevelopment project from Part 2 of the Environmental Bill Of Rights (1993). As Part 2 of this bill outlines the minimum levels of public participation that must be met before the provincial government can move on environmentally significant proposals, Schedule 8 would eliminate public opinion, consultation, or even awareness from being considered. This only serve the private sector and is absolutely not in the public’s best interest. It goes without saying that this will also undoubtably have a negative impact on the environment and wildlife.
