I am shocked and appalled…

I am shocked and appalled that the government is willing to sacrifice the long term interests of society for short term gain. Responsible development should take into account our fragile ecosystems and ensure we are protecting vulnerable species — the protection mechanisms are there to provide very necessary constraints for how we develop and maintaining them is essential. Please do not prioritize corporate greed over doing the right thing for the planet. Please do not try to disguise this as necessary for affordable housing — there are plenty of other options that don’t necessitate getting rid of environmental standards and protections. Please keep existing protections and hold developers to a higher standard.
