I strongly oppose Bill 5 and the gutting of Ontario’s Endangered Species Act. This is not conservation — it’s a license to destroy critical habitats and silence science in favor of unchecked development.
Shrinking habitat definitions, stripping power from scientists, and sidelining Indigenous voices is reckless, short-sighted, and dangerous. These changes don’t "protect" anything — they clear the path for extinction and ecological collapse.
This government has no mandate to dismantle environmental protections behind closed doors. Ontario deserves better. We need bold leadership that defends biodiversity, not one that sells it out.
Scrap Bill 5. Protect our species. Listen to science. Listen to the people.
