With all due respect - I am deeply concerned by this proposal. Just when evidence is emerging that the loss of biodiversity could have equal or even more severe effects than environmental changes related to climate change - Ontario is proposing to relax its species protection? It seems short-sighted to reverse the progress despite our now better understanding of species protection: What's the point of faster project starts when their impact contribute to making our environments uninhabitable at a faster rate?

If anything, I would urge the government to increase the standards for environmental impact assessments and species protection. Thank you, Patricia
