Sounds like a big step backwards. Wildlife requires habitat not just a dwelling. Permits must be required before a project starts to ensure developers follow the regulations. We do not want to be in a position where it’s like asking for forgiveness after the fact instead of getting permission. Years of mistakes lead to having these protections as we realized we were affecting not only wildlife but our drinking water etc.
