Have we now hit a point in the destruction of our world where the ONLY concern is human life and for a specific subset of that life to become wealthy beyond measure? A point where our provincial government seeks to appoint themselves the emperors of our natural world? To say that "The bill would give the provincial cabinet final say on species designations, rather than relying on expert committees." is an horrific over-reach and self serving power grab. We saw the priorities of this government with the Green Belt scandal. Lining the pockets of already wealthy friends and developers appears to be the only end goal. You try to sell this as necessary to speed development. What you are really doing is speeding the demise of hundreds of vulnerable species. This is not streamlining. It's destruction. The record of this government, even with the current Endangered Species Act, is horrendous. Our natural world is my refuge, my sanity saver, my space of grace. It's sad that those pushing these changes have no appreciation for what they are bulldozing away.
