I am writing to express my strong opposition to Schedule 8 of the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act, which exempts all projects tied to the Ontario Place redevelopment from Part Two of the Environmental Bill of Rights.

This kind of blatant disrespect for the basic rules of environmental law in this province echoes the exact sentiment of the Trump administration and is not want the citizens of Ontario want. This proposed amendment is clearly only in place to benefit the private sector and has no benefit for the public interest, and at the same time will cause irriversable damage to the natural environment at a time of climate crisis and habitat loss.

The situation with coyotes migrating to Liberty Village and becoming agressive is evidence of the damage that is done when the environment is not taken into account. Please do not cause more tragedies like the one occurring in Liberty Village and remove section 8 from this bill.
