Ontario is a beautiful province. One that I have loved and cherished for over 43 years. Before coming to Canada, I was born in Tanzania. Both there and here, the importance of preserving nature and animals was well understood. We share our home with a rich variety of species and we are better off for it.
It is a surprise then that a government rooted in a conservative approach doesn’t understand the basics of conservation. I am disgusted at the proposed changes to the endangered species act. A full on assault on the things that make this province beautiful. Economic growth is important, jobs are important, but not at the expense of the species and nature that make this province beautiful.
My children will inherit this province, as will yours, and I expect them to get one that is a beautiful and rich in species as the one I received when I came to this country 43 years ago. Do not pass this bill.
