I adamantly disagree with this proposal to weaken the endangered species act. This is a time when our endangered species need protection especially with how fragmented southern Ontario is, we need to maintain key areas protected by SAR.
Developers and politicians do not have the knowledge base to make decisions. Government should not have override on species listing, should be left to COSSARO.
Narrowing the scope of the definition for habitat does not address habitat connectivity required for self sustaining populations of many species
Also, removing the requirement of recovery strategies and management plans is irresponsible and not transparent for the public.
