This bill would not only have irreversibly detrimental consequences on Canada’s environment, but it would also silence Indigenous rights and allow Doug Ford a dangerously unchecked abuse of power, undemocratically allowing him to override established laws in the name of “economic zones.” This is a threat to Canada’s environment, rights, history, and democracy. Now more than ever we must ban together to uplift, strengthen, support, and protect our country—not destroy it from the inside. If we don’t even value our own worth, how can we expect anyone else to?
