The problem with getting development started in Ontario isn't the protections for our environment, it's chronic under funding of the public service. Bypassing environmental protections only serves to make a quick buck while we Ontarians, Canadians and Earth citizens deal with the consequences in lack of biodiversity, loss of habitat, and the destruction of our world. Leave these protections alone. These environmental protections are extremely important. If they had been followed for the Ontario place redevelopment, you would have learned that coyotes lived there, and now that it's gone they're in urban Toronto. This will only make situations like this more common. Or worse, cause huge impacts like lowering the ability of the ground to hold water, making flooding like last summers mega floods in Toronto happen more often.
This needs to stop. You need to understand that our environment isn't just places to put high rises for companies.
