Bill 5 is an assault on land and wildlife in Ontario. The information presented about The new Species Conservation Program is incredibly vague and provides no insight into what actions will actually take place to maintain conservation and protection of the land and animals.
Removing much needed so called “red tape” will allow developers to destroy important habitats without any regard.
This bill also completely disregards our constitutional rights as Ontarians and Canadians under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and the treaty rights of Indigenous peoples in Ontario.
I vehemently oppose these proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act.
