I oppose this bill: The government would also have discretion to remove protected species from the list.
As "the government" is not made up of scientists and specialists in the field of environmental protection it is irresponsible to allow "the government" to have a say in this matter whatsoever. We do not need elected politicians who can be swayed by public opinion or corporate lobbyists to have any sort of discretion whatsoever over the committee members already in place.
We do not need legislation which will destroy habitats. For shame for trying to ram this through without proper announcement and consultation with the public.
