QUESTIONING ERO 025-0380, dismantling the Endangered Species Act
I oppose the Ford government's reckless dismantling of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) of 2007.
The proposed ERO 025-0380 aims to replace this critical legislation with the misleadingly named Species Conservation Act (SCA), which abandons recovery efforts, ignores scientific guidance, and allows industries to destroy vital habitats with minimal oversight.
Science worldwide tells us that protecting our ecosystems is essential to protecting our very life. But you know this. I’m not the first one to tell you.
A very important book, Silent Spring clearly outlines our unwitting destruction of our ecosystems. It was published in 1963!
I’ve attached this book. And if you’ve not yet read it, why do you have your job? If you have read it, how do you justify weakening the protection Act already in place?
What is your action plan to combat climate change? It takes all of us, individually (that’s me), and at all government levels, to bring the earth back into more balance.
I'm just not content to be complacent about the ongoing environmental destruction. The concept, ruin and then rehabilitate, is murderous.
