It has taken 'years' of work for Ontario to have an Endangered Species Legislation that made our province proud and guided 'proper' development without sacrificing our "Natural Heritage' values.
Do not change nor weaken the Endangered Species legislation now. This government would be ignoring all of the negotiations that have gone into what we have now.
Our world is not the same as when we're growing up. Life, living things in the form of species are diminishing at an alarming rate, ie; the IUCN (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) now lists nearly 1 million species at risk of extinction. Scientific reports published this past year confirm that bird species have suffered heavy declines in just the last few decades. Insects crucial to pollinating many of our agricultural plants have also shown major declines.
In the face of the major treaths to our natural environment. THAT WE ARE A PART OF, if anything we need to strengthen or at the very least maintain the standards we have set to protect the world we live in and so much a 'part' of.
Please do not make any changes to the existing Endangered Species Act.
