There is plenty of available space within access to public transit to increase our housing supply without creating urban sprawl. We need affordable, accessible housing, not highways leading to vehicle-dependent suburbs with million dollar new builds. Furthermore we need to invest in renewable energy. We did not elect you to make backroom deals and sell our resources to the US.
I strongly oppose Bill 5, the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act. This legislation poses a serious threat to Ontario’s natural heritage, democratic processes and Indigenous rights. I recognize this for what it is: a short cut for Ford’s friends to undermine transparency, accountability and Ontario’s duty to uphold Indigenous rights and treaties.
As an Ontario resident, I have not asked for weaker protections or less say in decisions that affect the province’s land, water and future. Bill 5 silences my voice, marginalizes science and erases decades of hard-won environmental progress.
Stop bending the law to cater to the wealthy. Your constituents need you to govern for them, not just your cronies.
