We all rely on a healthy ecosystems to survive. The goal of all governments should be sustainable economic development that respects the essential mandate of environmental protection.
The proposed changes are moving us in the wrong directions and giving a green light to development at the expense of the environment. The removal of oversight and the fast tracking of proposals will inevitably result in damaged ecosystems and subsequent reductions in both air and water quality.
While there may be moderate short term economic gains for small groups of people, these gains will be paltry compared to the exponential costs Ontarians will have to pay into the future.
The proposed changes are shortsighted and counter to what is in the best interest of the people of Ontario.
