I strongly oppose Bill 5, the Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act. This legislation poses a serious threat to Ontario’s natural heritage, democratic processes and Indigenous rights.

Very simply: You have read the arguments against diminishing the environmental policies already established. They are well documented.

The base line is: no healthy and balanced environment = no healthy and balanced life. (This includes yours.)

Have you been sick enough to not be able to go to work? or be with your family? I am sure you can relate that poor health means not living life as you wish or need to. Nothing else can be done until you are well enough to do it!

Without a healthy environment we have no clean air, no clean water to drink, no clean land to live on, no clean land to grow food.

This is what you are creating by not enforcing environmental policies that protect all species of life and ecological balance in each and every industrial action.

Instead, put your efforts into enforcing environmental protections so that industry CAN proceed without compromising/destroying the environment it is affecting. Not just pockets of land. All of it.

Perhaps the industry CEOs, and subsequent benefactors, can get paid a little less so everyone may and can prosper.

Get greedy for long term environmental sustainability.
