This is idiocy in motion. This should not, cannot happen. With my entire being I oppose this! Ontario plants, trees, insects and animals are under enormous pressure. Wetlands and forests are shrinking. One only has to drive to the north, south, east and west of Toronto to see the amount of land that is being sold and paved over. Do we need more AFFORDABLE housing - yes! But to give carte blanche to developers and construction industry is lunacy. An honour system?? We know how well corporations honour their agreements. We absolutely need an independent scientific body assessing and recommending correct sustainable and environmentally sounds ways for development of the future. The role of government is to protect us from corporations not sell us out . This has the government working on behalf of business, no Ontarians. No way to this bill. Absolutely no way. Please do not do this. Science must take the lead here, not profits.
