This bill will do significant damage to Ontario's natural environment and at-risk species. Protections for our 200+ at-risk species are already quite weak in our province, with significant freedom of operation given to industry such as mining. This anti-science bill would allow companies to start developing a project that could destroy habitat or kill at-risk species without first getting a permit. The bill will only further diminish the minimal protections in place and it is not in the best interest of any Ontarian. Biodiversity is key to human and planetary well-being, both of which will be infringed by this bill. As a concerned Ontarian, I sincerely urge the Ford government to reconsider this harmful bill.
