I do not support the proposed changes for removing environmental protections in bill 5. I ask that the government of Canada and Province of Ontario continue to have strong environmental regulations. I do not support economic zones that can override regulations or public consultation. This bill is a violation of our rights as Canadians and a violation of indigenous rights. The endangered species act is an essential marker for the survival of humanity. One must not plough through lands without consultation. This is a country where humanity must come first, even before the economy. There is no Canada and no Ontario without the earth and we need strong environmental protections now more than ever for the survival humanity and life on earth. Now is not the time to go backwards.
