Please implement a longer than one-year ban on water taking from Ontario sources. Industry pays pennies on the dollar for taking non-renewable water resources from the ground, and most often it is rural Ontario communities that are disproportionately affected. Unfortunately, only a minority of Ontarians live in rural areas, and so their voice is not heard quite as loud as masses of people in urban centres, like myself. Water is the essence of life, and no longer should it be commodified and exported in 500mL bottles around the world. This is our water, and we must do everything in out power to preserve and protect it. Canadians rely on a clean, reliable supply of fresh water and now is the time to take a stand and keep the water in the ground for a time when we need it most. Thank you.
