I, as a lifelong resident of Ontario, categorically oppose this Bill. Public consultation is essential for a real democracy and should never be eliminated or severely curtailed. Additionally, should this bill pass, it will put Ontario's environmental future at very real risk. Short term gains are not an acceptable pay off for the very real longterm losses that would be suffered by Ontarians. Please consider the future of this province, not just short term economic gains that will provide limited economic benefit to a small few at the expense of Ontario's natural beauty, biodiversity and environmental sustainability, and do not pass Bill 5.
