The preservation of species and natural habitat is of utmost importance. While humans are the dominant species on earth, we also have a sacred obligation to care for other species. The species are important in themselves. They are also important to our own survival since they may hold key information to the development of future medications to enable human survival. In this time of turmoil it is important to have some aspect of political life that is uplifting and creates hope for the future. Knowing that the habitat of countless creatures is being destroyed will destroy our hope for future generations to be able to live in harmony with nature. Destroying the ability of nature to heal itself will also negatively impact future generations.
