The legislation and powers at be are threatening our way of life by waiving the requirement for a full environmental assessment of the proposed York1 disposal site. The amount of waste that is being proposed that is to be coming down the Main Street of Dresden is ASTRONOMICAL. The noise pollution and increased traffic down our quiet main street would disrupt 2 schools and dozens of homes (mine being on of them on the main street). I also have 4 young children. I’m worried about their health with the unknown construction materials being brought into the site. The thought of asbestos and lead from old construction materials coming to be disposed of potentially leaking into our drinking water and the Sydenham are too real to waive the risk of an environmental assessment alone. If the government makes the negligent choice to waive the requirement for an environmental assessment they are opening up a huge can of worms and opening the door to bigger legal battles. With the site being merely 800ft away from the town of Dresden there should be no a
Question that an assessment should be absolutely required.
I oppose this proposal
