Stop threatening our rights and freedoms.
I am writing to voice my strong opposition to Bill 5, the “Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, 2025.” As a resident of Ontario, I am deeply concerned about the sweeping changes proposed in this omnibus legislation, particularly those that threaten environmental protections, reduce public oversight, and weaken Indigenous consultation rights.
This bill appears to prioritize short-term economic gains at the expense of Ontario’s long-term sustainability, environmental health, and democratic values. Gutting environmental safeguards and limiting public input sets a dangerous precedent that risks irreversible harm to the province’s ecosystems and undermines trust in government. It is a threat to our democracy and a threat to critical environmental systems.
Premier Ford, as our elected leader, I urge you to reconsider this legislation. Please demonstrate true leadership by protecting the natural heritage of Ontario and upholding the rights of its people. I ask that you withdraw Bill 5 or support meaningful amendments that reflect the voices of Ontarians.
