I am writing to express my strong opposition to Bill 5. This legislation prioritizes speed and development at the cost of Ontario’s ecosystems and wildlife.
Fast-tracking projects without proper environmental assessments will lead to irreversible damage to habitats, wetlands, forests, and the species that rely on them. Many animals are already under stress due to habitat loss, and Bill 5 will only accelerate this crisis.
We cannot keep sacrificing nature for short-term economic gains. Ontario’s biodiversity is not just beautiful; it is essential to the health of our environment and future generations.
I urge you to halt Bill 5 and protect what cannot be replaced.
