As a concerned citizen, I strongly oppose Bill 5.
This bill is yet another example of the Ford government’s prioritization of capital gain over environmental responsibility. Our natural spaces, ecosystems, and endangered species are not commodities to be traded for short-term profit or political favour.
Doug Ford’s repeated pattern of placing money in the hands of developers—often at the cost of our shared environment—shows a complete disregard for the future of Ontario’s lands, waters, and wildlife. This is not responsible governance; it is capital greed disguised as policy.
We need leadership that protects the public interest, not one that sells it off. Bill 5 must be rejected to safeguard what remains of our natural heritage and to put our planet, its species and its people, not profit, first.
