Canada must continue to work to maintain our delicate ecosystem so that we may have a home for ourselves and for future generations. I hope that the people voting on this bill understand just how devastating climate change has been and how we must work to combat it.
This bill proposes dangerous erosions to already inadequate protections for our environment, all so more private property can be built in these places. Ontario has a lot of land, and this bill would give developers a free pass to trample it without even the opportunity to see what lies underfoot.
Worst of all there is no evidence that this new paradigm would decrease prices or improve the quality of life for the average Ontarian. Frankly this falls in line with past attempts to destroy our green belt all for the sake of a few people turning a profit at the expense of our province and its future.
