We cannot get rid of wetlands to build because they play a crucial role in maintaining environmental balance and protecting communities. Wetlands act as natural water filters, removing pollutants and improving water quality. They also serve as vital flood control systems by absorbing excess rain and runoff, reducing the risk of flooding in nearby areas. Additionally, wetlands provide habitat for a wide range of plant and animal species, many of which are endangered or unique to those ecosystems. Destroying wetlands to make way for construction not only increases environmental risks but also eliminates irreplaceable natural resources that benefit both humans and wildlife.
